The International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) examined the current world drug problem in United Nations Member States in its annual report. The report, published on March 5th, highlights Bolivia’s efforts in the regionalization of its narcotics control controlled model.
In 2018, the Plurinational State of Bolivia continued working towards the creation of new exchanges and the strengthening of existing cooperation efforts for drug control in the region. Bolivian officers participated in training workshops on the seizure of properties and assets in drug trafficking cases, money laundering, and regional cooperation on border control. Bolivia also signed bilateral and multilateral treaties with neighboring countries such as Perú and Brasil, in order to improve joint efforts in border control, however one of its biggest accomplishments this past year is the creation of a Regional Anti-narcotics Intelligence Center. The Center seeks to implement a system for joint operational cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking in the South America.
