This past Friday, two coca farmers were shot to death by DIRANDO, the anti-drug police and officers from CORAH, the coca crop eradication project, in the San Gaban District of Puno, Peru. The Andean Information Network and other human rights and drug policy organizations have come together in support of Peruvian coca growers’s request to President Martin Vizcarra and Executive Director of DEVIDA, Rubén Vargas, for a transparent investigation of the incident.
