Rural women currently represent 25% of the global population. They play a decisive role in sustaining and improving rural livelihoods and in strengthening communities by participating in tasks related to agriculture, food security and nutrition, land and natural resource management, unpaid work, and domestic care. Rural women perform a crucial role in developing capacities and knowledge in their territories.
